Bend Film Festival

THUR-SUN - Downtown Bend - Don't miss out on the action! Designated as one of the "Top 25 Coolest Film Festivals in the World," the 16th Annual BendFilm Festival is happening! 70 films, 30 musical acts and parties every night! MBSEF Ski Swap

SAT - Bend Pavillion - Got extra skis and boots gathering dust in your garage? Need a new set of powder sticks for the season? Head to the MBSEF Skyliners Swap this Saturday to stock up for the season or clean out your stockpile of old gear, or do a little of both. Doors open at 8 a.m. Free admission. All donations benefit the MBSEF scholarship program.

Spring Creek Salmon Walk

SAT - Camp Sherman - Join the Deschutes Land Trust and Megan Hill for a Salmon Walk along Spring Creek near the Metolius River. This beautiful, privately-owned property includes wetland habitat, quaking aspens, mixed conifer forests, and outstanding habitat for wildlife including kokanee and Chinook salmon. Hike along Spring Creek and the Metolius River and observe kokanee salmon spawning, and learn about efforts to restore Chinook and sockeye salmon to the Metolius River and its tributaries. Free.

Historical Haunts Tour

FRI-SAT - Deschutes Historical Society - Bring your flashlights, comfortable shoes, and plenty of nerve! Each night the museum’s docents lead twelve one-hour tours around Historic Downtown Bend, spinning tales from Bend’s past and weaving in a pinch of the paranormal and mystery. The first tour leaves at 4 p.m. with additional tours following every 15 minutes. The final tour of the night is 7:30 p.m. Tour space is available on a first-come, first-served basis. $10-$15

PretzelFest @ Immersion

SAT Immersion Brewing - It’s baaacccck! Immersion Brewing is at it again with Pretzel Fest! Join us on our back patio “The Arizona Mullet” celebrating everything pretzels. You know what goes great with pretzels? Beer. You know what goes great with beer? Music. Pretzels and beer by Immersion and music by Joseph Balsamo. 1pm - 7pm, FREE.

Live Music

FRI - The Volcanic Theatre hosts Black Joe Lewis - Joe Lewis first picked up a guitar while working at a pawn shop in Austin, TX. Shortly thereafter, Lewis immersed himself in the local Red River blues/garage scene, performing and recording with Austin luminaries such as the Weary Boys and Walter Daniels. 9pm, $20

FRI - Che Apalache @ The Belfrey in Sisters - Presented by the Sisters Folk Festival. Che Apalache is a four-man Latingrass string band based in Buenos Aires, with members hailing from Argentina, Mexico and the United States. The cross-genre bands formed in order to honor music, enjoy music and bridge the gap between North and South American styles, creating a unique and powerful vision of truly “American” music. $15/$20, 7pm

SUN - Tubby Love & Amber Lily @ The Domino Room - Tubby Love's physical, spiritual, and musical transformation has been a testimony to the power of human evolution. All ages. 8pm, $12.

SUN - Sisters Saloon Open Mic Night, Open Mic at Sisters Saloon hosted by Bend musician, Victor Johnson. Covers and originals, all ages welcome. 190 E. Cascade Ave., Sisters

Pyschic Medium

SAT - Daniel Monroe @ The Volcanic Theatre - Do you have a loved one that you would like to reconnect with? Have you ever wondered if your departed loved ones are still a part of your life? Daniel Monroe, and extremely gifted and well-known psychic medium from the Portland area, has the ability to hear and see what most people cannot. Those who have worked directly with Monroe have labeled him “extremely gifted”, “the real deal”, and “life changing”. 7pm, $20-$30.

Live Theater

ONGOING Thru 10/13 - Cascades Theatrical Co. - Based on the true story of four women in the 1920’s, THESE SHINING LIVES follows Catherine Donohue and her coworkers in a watch factory, as they paint the hour markings onto different sized watch dials using a radium compound which glows in the dark. Thur-Sat @ 7:30pm, Sun @ 2:00pm, $25.

Elk Lake

ONGOING – Plenty of locals have only been to Elk Lake in the summer. The views and the abundant trails and camping make this area fun—but crowded. But if you love snow sports—and snow in general—winter at Elk Lake can be a paradise.    

DD Ranch Pumpkin Patch

9/28 - 10/31 Terrebonne - Fall fun is endless at the DD Ranch! There is no admission charge and parking is free. The Pumpkin Patch is huge – you are sure to find the perfect pumpkin. On weekends there are:
Pony Rides, Petting Zoo, Kids Corral, Hay Maze, DD Dirt Express Train, Hay Ride, Cowboy Arcade, and much, much more!
