Mamma Mia

FRI-SUN - Tower Theater - A mother, a daughter, 3 possible dads, and a trip down the aisle you’ll never forget. Told through the hits songs of pop group ABBA, this all-local musical sensation will turn you into a dancing queen! Produced by Thoroughly Modern Productions, directed by David Dacosta, choreography by Dakota Weeda, and musical direction by Angelina Anello- Dennee.

10 Barrel Wave Competition

SAT- Bend Whitewater Park - Bend’s most talented and dedicated surfers to see who will be crowned king and queen of the wave at the inaugural Wave Competition at the Colorado bridge break. There will be live music food and, of course, beer at the shred fest, with proceeds benefitting the whitewater park project

Bend Oktoberfest

FRI-SAT- Wiener dog races, polka bands, and beer steins are on display proudly at Bend’s annual Oktoberfest celebration. In addition to barrels of great beer, you’ll find tons of live music and local food. Grab your lederhosen and stick a feather in your hat. It’s time to cozy up with an accordion player.

Sunriver Pacific Amateur Golf

SUN-THUR – The biggest open flight amateur golf tournament in the Northwest takes to the links at Sunriver. Players from around the country arrive for a week of friendly competition and golf-centric revelry. The Pacific Amateur showcases the Sunriver Resort’s three championship courses with finalists advancing to a winner(s) take all round at Crosswater resort.

NWX Saturday Farmer’s Market

SAT – Northwest Crossing hosts their Saturday Market featuring a bounty of seasonal produce, locally-raised meats, fresh eggs and cheese, handmade items, beautiful flowers, tasty morsels, a variety of local vendors, and an eclectic mix of live music.

Live Music

FRI - 9p - Jess Ryan Band CD Release Party @ Volcanic Theatre Pub - After spending the last couple of years building up their musical rapport in Bend, Oregon, The Jess Ryan Band are now preparing to record their debut album, and to raise the roof at venues across the Pacific Northwest.

SAT - Dub Trio - Come listen in with the Dub Trio, who have previously found themselves in the studio with musicians from Mike Patton all the way to Lady Gaga herself. 8pm @ Domino Room.

SUN – Sarah McQuaid - Artree Folk & Roots, UK Singer/Songwriter Sarah McQuaid, recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award for innovative DADGAD tuning by the Ards International Guitar Festival was also praised for her voice and engaging rapport. Farm to Table Dinners

FRI & SUN– Sisters and Prineville - If you’re looking to get in touch with your local food sources, there are two events this weekend. Rainshadow Organics near Sisters features a Hemp Harvest Celebration ($250) that includes a farm tour, sample products and a gourmet long table dinner featuring elements of Rainshadow’s harvest. You’ll also find a Farm to Table event in downtown Prineville. Crooked River Pastures presents a five-course seed to table meal served on the grounds of the historic Crook County Courthouse with live music. ($75)

Mt. Bachelor

ONGOING – The Mt. Bachelor Bike Park offers 13 miles of downhill trails and different options for various skill levels.    

Cascade Car Show

FRI-SAT – Redmond - Street Rods, Mods, Vintage classics, and more roll into the Deschutes Expo Center this weekend for the Cascade Car Show. See hundreds of hot rods, classic muscle cars and restoration jobs that showcase the golden era of American automobiles. There will be food, drink and live music on Friday and Saturday with prizes awarded for the top cars in dozens of categories, including “best Ford” (there is such a thing) “best Chevy” and “best in show.”
